May 27, 2004 -- The fortnight long ‘House Race' series filmed in Birmingham's Bullring shopping centre is set for broadcast in the summer 2004, and will see two couples compete to build two new houses in just ten working days with the winning family receiving £30,000 towards their own self build project.

Benfield ATT work alongside the contestants throughout the design, engineering, production and erection phases of these unique self-builds by supplying a specialist Timber Frame Design & Build Team for each family.

Embracing the UK's ever-progressing sustainability ethos, Benfield ATT have used only renewable sources of timber from FSC-Certified sustainably managed forests. For every tree that is felled, at least one extra is planted with its replacement.

Dr Michael Benfield, Managing Director of Benfield ATT, who was involved in House Race from the beginning enthused, "Everyone is genuinely astounded at what the team has achieved; In ten days the teams have built two individually-designed fully-furnished Timber Frame homes from scratch, on our most prestigious and complex building site yet."
